The Children Of The Night
It’s the year 2021, the world has changed it’s nothing like you would have imagined reality would have become, it is now everything you would have never expected to see, things you would have only read in books and things you would have seen in movies. We no longer have books as you remember them they are all compiled into tiny little hand held computers which are given to your family at the time of your birth, the tiny little device is completely registered to you. No one but the owner can access the information held within it, and it’s knowledge becomes more in depth as the child grows and learns new things. The only ones with the ability to access the personal information with in the device is the owner and the archangels.
The archangels are the planetary government, voted into power in 2012. Religious people around the world preached the apocalypse was coming, and that their god would save them from the horrors that awaited the unbelieving sinners of the world. But, once again their god never showed and the religious god fearing people of the world fell and along with them the many of the governments of the world. Shortly after this happened the world plummeted into civil war unlike anything anyone could imagine. The most violent attacks and crimes took place during this time and as if it was planned the archangels appeared out of nowhere and saved what was left of earths people.
They also brought with them the lamia, living creatures that were once human but were infected with a virus that killed them and then resurrected them. The archangels created the virus and the lamia centuries ago, and they were hidden from the world for their protection. The word Lamia means vampire, and they are the oldest living creatures on the planet, they were like human in everyway except for their insatiable appetites, the only thing that kept them satisfied was blood and not just any blood it needed to be human blood in order for them to stay healthy. At first the lamia never fed on humans, they were restricted to animals, but the lamia need far more nourishment then humans and they consumed more animals in a week period then a hundred humans.
The archangels finally put to the human population to vote, either died from starvation and lack of nourishment or allow the lamia to feed off humans that were considered undesirable. Murders, rapist, repeat offenders of arson, theft and so on. The results were shocking to most, over ninety percent the population decided to allow the Lamia to feed off of undesirables with out any sort of argument.
The people feared the Lamia, and they petitioned the archangels to segregate the community, they claimed the Lamia had mood swings that could possibly end up with the death of an innocent, the archangels wanting to keep peace between the two species agreed and began segregation, but within reason. Children would still attend schools together unless an incident happened, where they had to separate the two species all together and as for the adults lamia and naturals were to still work together at their jobs, however they did keep separate living quarters, and entertainment areas for the two species.

The only purpose in their life, the only goal of their entire existence, their only chance at survival is keeping the secret. Their lifespan is eternal, unless they can control themselves and they can choose if they want the changing to stop. Mortal or Immortal? As they learn the power of discipline, they have a better chance. Though this takes some time. The wolves and humans are oblivious of their interlacing lives. However the secret is hard to keep to yourself, you cannot control it until you gain the experience. What happens if someone slips? If their control breaks loose? What if ... the code is broken? Now it is time for our story to unfold, another storm for us to break through. I wish you luck, my friend.
But now new creatures have been spotted, and not only one type, many versions of another unknown species. They are said to have teeth as sharp as a knife, penetrating the necks of their victims. There are very few, but they are known. And another species has the record of appearing somewhat like a dragon, but in human form. One has told me that they have phantom wings, and phantom claws coming from their human bodies ... the world is full of surprises. Surprises that could either give you the thrill of a lifetime, or bring you to an early deathbed. Be careful where you take your breaths, they could be listening ...
